We have been working on brushing up on the use of capitalization when writing proper nouns, days of the week, months of the year, titles for people, cities, states, countries and holidays, as well as the use of commas in dates and to separate cities and states. We have also learned how to use quotation marks in our writing. We continue to use these skills to help us be better writers.
We had fun creating origami bats and then creating stories about bats which we shared with our peers.
We were thrilled that each of our alumni pen pals wrote back to us! We sent them a second letter, and we are looking forward to learning more about our new Trinity alumni friends.
We celebrated our 100th day of school in a special way. Each second grader entered the classroom by stepping through the number 100. We plotted out end to end each of the 100 items we brought to class. We had a great time celebrating the number 100 in various fun activities. One of our favorite games was Race to 100 with dice. We thank God for each and every day we have together here at Trinity in 2nd Grade as we continue to learn and grow together.
We had 10 Boone High School seniors come and read to us over one of our lunch periods. We enjoyed our time together! It went by way too quickly.
Thank you to Mrs. Huedepohl, Mrs. Larson, Mrs. Neis, and Mrs. Westrum for planning a fun Valentine’s Day party. We played guess the number of candies in the jars, move the hearts game, and a candy match word search. All the treats were yummy, and we enjoyed opening Valentines from our friends. “We love because God first loved us.” 1 John 4:19. Celebrating God’s love and the love we have for one another is always special.
