3rd & 4th Grade - April 2023

We looked at the calendar and counted...there is only ONE month left of school! Students could hardly believe it! Wow! It is time to ...SPRINT TO THE FINISH. My husband is an ultra-marathon runner with lots of races under his belt, including a 2nd place finish in his age group at Dam to Dam. He advises that when it comes to the end of the race, you sprint across the finish line giving everything you have and leave it all on the course. That is what 3rd and 4th graders are doing. It is not time to coast to the end of the year, rather, we are kicking it into high gear and pounding out more units in math, science, social studies, writing and more! Students are working hard on persuasive essays, learning about geometry, and exploring how muscles and bones work together to make the body move. Students are drilling math facts, memorizing Scripture, and working on their handwriting. We plan to rest on May 27th...but until then..it's TIME...TO...SPRINT!

We ended March by awarding Joanna Kope with Student of the Month recognizing her for her diligence, our character trait for March. April’s trait is integrity

We had three field trips in April. First, we went to our state capitol building. We had a wonderful tour from an excellent guide who commented at the end that our class was the best class she had ever had!!! We also got to go to the Civic Center to see a production

entitled Air Play. Finally, we had a mini-field trip to Ericson Public Library where we got to

participate in a Zoom interview with Lauren Tarshis, the author of the I Survived series.

The best part of our month was remembering what Christ did for us on the cross and celebrating His resurrection! Praise His holy name!
