APRIL SHOWERS...
In 3rd grade, we have been showered with blessings from the Lord this April. Every week held something special for our class. The first week, we enjoyed a day off from school at the beginning and our class Easter party at the end of the week. In the second week, we marveled at the eclipse and joined our kindergarten buddies at Ledges for their Forest Friday. The third week, we attended Charlotte’s Web at Stephen’s Auditorium and then visited the Iowa DOT sign shop in Ames to see how road signs are made. The rest of the week, students worked hard on their ISASP testing. In week four, we enjoyed the Jump-For-Heart health challenges and saw Dr. Kaboom! at the Civic Center. We will wrap up April with our final round of FAST testing, where students will showcase all their growth and improvement in reading fluency.
We can hardly believe there is only one month left of school—wow! It’s time to... SPRINT TO THE FINISH. That’s exactly what 3rd graders are doing. It’s not time to coast to the end of the year; we’re kicking it into high gear and powering through more units in math, science, social studies, writing, and more! Students are working hard on equivalent fractions, exploring clouds and weather patterns, and learning about early governments and the founding of our great nation. They are drilling math facts, memorizing Scripture, and working on their handwriting. We plan to rest on May 25th... but until then, it’s TIME...TO...SPRINT!
