“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.” ~ Psalm 95:6-7
What great care He has given to the little flock in our 3rd grade classroom! As we wrap up our school year, may all glory, thanksgiving, and praise be given to Him who makes all things and gives us every blessing. It is a true gift to be in a school that daily preaches and teaches the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! What an honor it is to be with these beautiful children who eagerly begin each day with prayer, memorize His holy Word, and confess that they are sinners saved only by the grace of our Lord Jesus!
As the students leave with their heads full of new knowledge and skills—whether it’s about decimals, weather patterns, the digestive system, the amazing wonder of the human eye, the history of Jamestown, the significance of documents like the Magna Carta and the U.S. Constitution, principles of art, or how to play the recorder—it is my hope and trust that most of all, they move on from 3rd grade carrying with them the truth of Scripture, the knowledge of the Gospel, and the love of Jesus!
May was an extremely busy month! We had the track meet, the operetta, the talent show, and celebrated and said goodbye to our kindergarten buddies. We cleaned out our desks, returned our books, and wrapped up all our academic units.
We had four field trips in May! We attended the Spring Outdoor Classroom at Don Williams, sponsored by the Boone County Conservation, where we learned about snakes and turtles, recycling, and the prairie. We were invited to ride the Boone Scenic Valley Railroad, participated in a fantastic half-day learning event at the Boone County Fairgrounds put on by the high school FFA, and saw the Peking Acrobats perform at the Civic Center. May was filled with wonderful off-campus learning activities!
Praise be to our God for all His blessings this school year!
