3rd Grade - October 2024

As October comes to a close, we are excited to share some of the wonderful activities our 3rd graders experienced this month at Trinity. Each day brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and enjoy time together in the light of God’s blessings.

This month, we celebrated the birthdays of three of our classmates: Zander, Zane, and Shuan! Each celebration brought joy, laughter, and delicious treats, reminding us of the special friendships we have in our classroom. We give thanks for these wonderful young boys and the joy they bring to our community!

A highlight of our month was our field trip to Living History Farms. The students had a fantastic time exploring Iowa’s agricultural history and experiencing what life was like on a farm in the past. It was exciting to explore working farms from long ago and see how people lived and survived before modern technology.  A favorite part of our trip was visiting the blacksmith and watching him heat, bend, and pound metal to make useful items.

Students also had two days off this month as the teachers attended a conference, where we had the opportunity to work with other educators from around Iowa. It was a blessing to meet with other Lutheran teachers from around the state of Iowa.

In addition, we took a field trip to the Boone Fire Station, where one of our parents, who is a dedicated fireman, hosted us for an engaging tour. The students learned about fire safety, the important work of firefighters, and even got to see the equipment up close. We are grateful for this experience and for the commitment our community shows to teaching our children about safety and service.

We also cherished our time spent with our kindergarten buddies! We met to read books together, fostering a love for reading and creating bonds between the grades. The joy on their faces was a true blessing.

As we reflect on this busy and fulfilling month, we are reminded of Psalm 107:1: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” We are truly grateful for the opportunity to attend a Christian school where we can grow academically and spiritually.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers. We look forward to sharing more about our journey as we move into November!

In Christ’s love, 3rd Grade
