Middle School - April 2024

5th & 6th Grade

April was a busy month for 5th and 6th grade, but it has been such a joy to be back!

In Literature, the fifth graders finished reading Bridge to Terabithia and began working on their projects for the novel. The sixth graders wrapped up Tuck Everlasting and created a wonderful variety of projects to showcase what they learned. From creative alternate endings to well-thought-out board games based on the novel, their projects were incredible! Both classes have also recently started a new unit in Language Arts and are doing great.

In Religion, we’ve been learning about and discussing discipleship. The 5th and 6th graders created skits to teach their classmates how Jesus called His twelve disciples. We’ve also been exploring ways that we can live as disciples today. 1 Timothy 4:12 emphasizes that even the young can set an example of Christ-like living for others, and these students do an excellent job of that!

Hand-in-hand with that, our Friendzy discussion this month has focused on the fact that we are created by God for a purpose and that we are valued. What a wonderful reminder for those tough days of middle school!
