“This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!” We have so much to rejoice about as we close our year in preschool! We have been blessed to spend the whole year together, in person, learning and growing together in faith, in academics and in friendship!
We have greeted each day as an exciting and wonderful gift to spend with friends at school. We closed out our school year learning animals we can see at the zoo. We constructed block zoos, fixed “broken” cages, moved like animals and enjoyed some animal noises. We even brought Noah’s Ark back out to retell the story of the flood!
Even though preschool looks like play, we were learning all the time. We enjoy simple math as we added and subtracted animals, measured towers, used shapes to create structures and so much more.
We enjoyed life science lessons during May. We watched our plants and caterpillars grow and change. We celebrated the flight of our butterflies, finding insects and blooming flowers. We were even blessed with a visit by the 1st and 2nd graders’ chicks!
We identified letters, simple words, parts of books and discussed how books about true things (non-fiction) help us discover information and make-believe books (fiction) are for enjoyment. We have grown to enjoy books--what a blessing!
Games have been a huge part of our last month of school. We worked hard on playing by the rules, waiting turns and saying good game when someone else wins. Have you played a card or board game lately? We pray you can add some to your summer fun!
We learned about the Ascension of Jesus and how the disciples looked for Him. They were told He is forever with those who believe in Him! We are blessed to share in the Word of God every day! “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!”
